LibriVox volunteers bring you 11 recordings of The Twelve Months by George Ellis (1753-1815). This was the Weekly Poetry project for January 24th – January 31st, 2010.
George Ellis, a Jamacian land owner, was a friend of Sir Walter Scott. It is possible that via Scott he was the inspiration for Emily Brontë’s choice of the nom de plume Ellis Bell.
